My dell inspiron laptop running windows vista crashed because an important windows files was deleted or damage somehow. I cannot restore the system however because it will not let me without the admin password which I never made. I do not want to reformat the computer yet because I have important files on the hard drive so I was wondering would this work:
Remove the laptop hard drive and connect it to another computer through a USB ATA Serial adapter to recover the files I need. Will this work even with the windows crashed on the hard drive? This would be an alternative to connecting it to another computers hard drive as a slave.
